The MP for Eastleigh has criticised Royal Mail for consistently missing delivery targets.

Only 82.8 per cent of first-class deliveries in the SO postcode area were delivered on time, falling short of the 93 per cent target.

The Liberal Democrat MP, Liz Jarvis, highlighted the importance of accountability to improve delivery services, describing current performance as "failing."

She said: "These missed targets are shocking and are leaving countless people in the lurch here in Eastleigh.

"People rely on these deliveries and having them arrive on time to go about their lives and should not be forced to put up with this disruption.

"This saga has been going on for far too long and people are rightly sick to the back teeth of it.

"It is time OFCOM stepped in to act on these unacceptable delays and hold this failing service accountable for letting people down here in Eastleigh."

Yeah Liz, I'm sure Ofcom can fix it.

There's far more chance Ofcom will lower the target to 83% than service quality ever reaching 93% again. Welcome to the century of lowered expectations.
