I confessed immediately, mine as soon as it went wrong.
Did it remain“undelivered” on the PDA as you couldn’t proceed to get a photo without inputting a date of birth?
If so, and you managed to post just as a silly careless error, a conduct warning seems harsh. To err is human, and a few words about taking much greater care, perhaps looking at labels and PDA before moving the item anywhere near a letterbox, would have sufficed imho. If not, a serious conduct warning might have been appropriate.
I had one today. First the WPC informed me I had one. Then after I scanned it asked for the persons DOB . Then a photo. Then a signature. That's four steps. I'm at a loss how it was wrongly delivered.
Besides that, what im really asking is did he call his manager as soon as he realised he couldnt get it back out or did he put in fake details and a fake signature and go on his merry way
Those are required BEFORE the PDA prompts you for a photo
Putting in the fake details and signing for it himself is more than just an accident - you could get away with calling it an accident if you immediately phoned the manager and explained what had happened and asked what you should do next
Please read what I've previously written.
I confessed immediately.
I didn't look at the PDA after I scanned the barcode.
I dropped it straight it into the box thinking it was an ordinary tracked ready for it's picture.
By that point there was nothing I could realistically do.
Yeah but you aren’t answering my question
Did you phone the manager at this point or did you put in a fake DOB, photo and signature?
How did you clear it off your scanner - it was either failed by pressing back and cancel or it was delivered with fake details
ACCA again read what I said.

It seems odd you seem to be evading the question.
What im asking is what did you do on the PDA? Did you cancel the scan so the tracked went down as a non delivery/failure or did you put in fake details and sign for it yourself? It has to be one or the other.
What did your manager tell you to do if you phoned him/her immediately?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
I went to the door with an item, they looked older than 25, i asked for their age (it was 20) and i gave them them the item without asking for i.d (This was a while ago before the PDA prompts changed)
It was a secret shopper and they informed royal mail i didnt ask for I.D.
So I am getting quite a few of these Age Verified Items and honestly, it's a bit like the Health and Safety that has gone crazy and out of control.
I am getting some old biddy's age because part of her cake set includes a wire cutter.
She doesn't plan to garotte anyone.
I have asked a couple of old gentlemen if there is anything sharp in their package because it's not booze, so why is it Age Restricted. Fishing hooks?
One woman had a load of plastic cups and plates for a party. Plastic cups.
Meanwhile, in the real world, I am never more than 30 ft away from something that I could use as a deadly weapon. It's crazy and it's out of control.

Do Shein (or is it TJ?) actually know what they are doing when sending AV items as it seems most of the "odd" ones are sent by them?
Do they care how much extra time it adds onto delivery? Absolutely not, same as RM and CWU. The "over and above" nature of most posties, is being flung out in favour of a quick profit. Asset strippers.
Get plenty of AV items. Some people acknowledge the parcel has Stanley blades, craft knives or pointed sharp garden tools. Equally get loads of confused people who say they haven’t ordered anything sharp or pointed and have had numerous saying that the parcel contains things like T-Shirts, colouring books, pencils and decorations. Had one customer who’s a teacher laughing because it was stuff she’d bought for the kids like colouring pencils and stencils.
Ok we know there is a serious side to it but piss balling about with nonsensical items is ridiculous and unwarranted.
The problem here is the labeling of the tracked AV packages.
We, do sometimes get the manager quoting all the AV due that day, however, they are not all on his list. Had quite a few taken me by surprise.
Top of package is just tracked 24/48 . No mention of signature. Only at the bottom left does it state AV. I can imagine if working at speed (being rushed) that if it fits through box it could be quite easy to scan barcode , offered to letterbox just click photo and pop it through automatically before you realise the AV section pops up instead of capture.

No. The prompts for Date Of Birth and confirming the customer is over the age are both before the photo prompt
Did the thread starter ever come back and post whether they put in fake date of birth and signature or cancelled the scan and failed the item?

This, absolutely no excuse, sorry if that's a bit harsh but it comes up on the pda, I suspect the thread starter just slapped it in the letterbox without looking at the PDA then it was too late.

Yeah but they wont answer what they did after that - whether they put in fake details and signed for it or whether they cancelled the scan so it just went down as a failure
