If they've only this week begin proper/formal discussions - then who was offering and turning down the several pay increases the CWU talked about last week?

So how can they go this (posted out on 6/9)….

The first Board meeting of the EP Group ownership era is on Monday 9th June. All parties have agreed to work over this weekend so progress can be presented to this meeting. From there we would want to sign off a full agreement that can be put to the CWU Postal Executive and then voted on by our members.

To this today….

The EP Group / CWU agreement committed to several key agreements being reached within 3 (September) or 6 (December) months post transaction. All parties agree there is an absolute need to accelerate this timeframe where possible - particularly around pay equalising new entrants' terms and conditions.

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

So first things first, ward and Walsh should resign immediately.

They have both told us on multiple occasions that a full agreement would be reached by the end of may and then June and now it’s September or even December……….

Why did they not say that negotiations couldn’t even start before the takeover was complete and a new board was in , we’re not thick , we’d understand that.

Instead they’ve lied to us and that’s why they should both resign.

Now we’re looking at Royal Mail getting everything they want with the odm and absolutely nothing in return for it which begs the question, why would they give us anything if they’ve already got what they wanted , we have no bargaining chip , nothing to negotiate with.

Is there any wonder why this union has such a bad reputation.

That’s me out of the union and I’d give anyone the same advice.

They’re an awful union that haven’t represented us in a very long time.

Absolutely spot on. Ward on £140k and Walsh probably not far behind. Pair of them absolutely rinsing the members whilst inflating their bloated pensions. Both will be retired on a fortune with their feet up in 5 years time while we will be suffering their shitty deal. We could also list dozens of other officers on handsome money for sitting around in meeting rooms and having little back slapping jolly ups around the country. Of course it’s not every union rep/officer but for too long the CWU has been used as place for the lazy and feckless to hide from doing real work. Every agreement they make more gets given away and less is won in return. It’s needs a top to bottom clear out with a new General secretary on no more than 45k so they can stay anchored to the real world and the workers they are supposed to represent.

It makes perfect sense for RM to bring the ODM in before a full agreement.
CWU have misled the members so I can't see how those in the top jobs survive this.
