Nintendo Switch 2 turned into parcel full of nuts

Post by inigo »

So, I ordered a Switch 2 console, direct from Nintendo, to arrive yesterday, the day it was launched. I was looking forward to playing some Mario Karts.

A parcel arrived on time, with my tracking label, via Tracked 24. There's a "Whole foods" sticker on the side - I think - that's odd - some advertising thing? But I go ahead and open it.

Inside - no Switch 2. Lots of almonds! And I see that as well as my tracking label, there's another tracking label for someone else in a nearby road, that has a Whole foods return address on it.

I call customer services. They say "our GPS tracking shows that you got the delivery". I say "no, I got someone else's delivery, with my label on it". And after some back-and-forth, and a few more calls to customer services, they say they can't actually do anything, and that I should contact Nintendo. But Nintendo are going to say "Royal Mail says it was delivered, so you can't have a replacement". And then I'm stuffed.

I'm not expecting to get my Switch 2 now. But is there a way to get the delivery status changed so it shows it wasn't delivered? Can the depot do it? Or anyone else?

I can't even eat the nuts, because they're someone else's!

This is correct. You have a contract with Nintendo, it is up to them to deliver it to you. Failure of Nintendo's sub-contractor is Nintendo's problem, not yours.
