There's some good points on this thread especially as regards the USO which now appears to be damaged beyond repair. The CWU leadership are often seen as collaborators in RM's transformation especially as regards closed-door agreements, withheld pay rises and their support for RM's optimised delivery method all points to a bureaucracy that is more interested in managing decline than resisting it. We are in a tough spot and I'm all for the the PWRFC but without numbers or workplace presence they can't negotiate or seriously challenge the CWU dominance and its fair to say that they should take any criticism on board and instead look at building alliances rather than try and score ideological points.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I don't think they'll get allot of support when supporters here brand more than half the workforce who voted for the sell out agreement, names or worse. At times some of the comments have been downright nasty.

All the CWU would have to do is advertise some comments on this board and people would run for cover

And in all honesty, unless they make some kind of union, they'll never get workplace recognition.

Like a dog chasing it's tail.

A lot of the stuff on the world socialist website is too ideological for a lot people but underneath the language they have warned us about the direction that RM was heading in years before most did and published real reports when the Union stayed silent. Someone needs to speak plainly about what's happening - the gutting of the USO, the CWU's closed door deals, the erosion of pay, conditions and morale. Whether you like them or not, the PWFRC has been reporting from the ground on the pilot schemes, job losses and our working conditions while the CWU bureaucracy stays silent or spins it.
However, they need to accept criticism in the way that many of us often criticise the CWU leadership.

Have to agree with you Pete, the WSW is holding itself back by constantly pushing its ideology along with what it believes is happening within RM and the unions stance.
If only they could gather themselves they perhaps could become a viable alternative to the CWU, which is what i think is required now as everything points in the direction of another poor agreement for the workforce, which the union shall spin as a victory and the greatest deal of our time.
The main reason i left was i got a feeling that what was coming next was not going to be good for anyone, the union know this and are just trying to not paint themselves into a corner, meanwhile yet again delivery will be shafted, it's ok saying start and finish time but eventually the pride us older posties have kicks in and not "delivering everything every day" wears you down.
I know it's a very simple and nostalgic viewpoint but that statement to me is what a delivery company should be about.

Yes, some great points on this thread—shows the potential to push back against the official cover-up by RM, Ofcom and the CWU over the sabotage of the USO.
Many recognise things will only get worse with the Framework Agreement with EP Group that Walsh and the executive are trying to force through. There are no channels within the union to oppose this—they are literally “working together” with management.

The PWRFC is building alliances at the grassroots. That’s why we’ve been able to alert postal workers to the direction of travel and expose what’s happening on the ground.

It’s been the critics of the PWRFC who’ve laid down restrictions—playing the man not the ball, throwing around “loony left” labels, and muddying the waters. This has been a very “ideologically” driven campaign but now we come to the nub, it turns out we’ve been telling the truth.
Moon71 is a prime example—trying to adapt but now claiming we branded over half the workforce “names or worse” for accepting the BRT&G agreement in 2023.
Simply untrue. We placed responsibility where it belongs as we said,
“The vast majority of those who voted ‘Yes’ do not support the agreement’s assault on their hard-won conditions and entitlements. But they did not see any way forward.
Those who voted ‘No’ represent the most militant and principled sections of workers. Under any other circumstances they would have been the basis for mobilising the entire membership in a struggle to defeat Royal Mail’s attacks, but they were suppressed and savagely betrayed by the bureaucracy.”
We been consistent. If you want to build alliances with your colleagues, aren’t offended by the truth, and want to organise something independent of the bureaucracy to develop the resistance—you are welcome at PWRFC.
