Dozens of Royal Mail vans moved in convoy from Fulwood to Preston Crematorium to mark the passing of a Preston postal worker.

Respects were being paid to 42-year-old Nicolas ‘Nick’ Davidson.

He died in March after being diagnosed with stage four bowel cancer shortly after Christmas.

Family, friends and former colleagues joined together on Tuesday (22 April) lunchtime to say farewell.

More than 40 Royal Mail vans turned out and joined the funeral procession from the depot in Pittman Way, Fulwood.

A number of them then travelled through to the Crematorium in Longridge Road for the Tuesday lunchtime service.

Nick worked at the Royal Mail’s Christian Road depot and was described as a ‘well-respected colleague and friend to many’.

Donations in Nick’s memory are to The Isabella Rose Foundation care of Neal Buckley Funerals, 6 Liverpool Road, Penwortham, PR1 0AD or call 01772744700.

Nick leaves behind his wife Lizz, children Jack, Charlie and Jessica, his mother Cora and his siblings Shaun, Neil, Martin and Meghan.
