We had a visit from a union rep yesterday and they were approaching all those on new contracts or those who weren’t members to sign up and sounded like a hard sell and we were grilled on why we didn’t want in.Seemed very unprofessional and its clearly our decision.Made us feel very uncomfortable.Anyone else had this at their office.

What were the selling? Partnership, collaboration? You don't have to engage with these people. Simply tell them no and to go away. Who's got the time to be speaking to them anyway?

Visited our office a few weeks ago said the area rep was on leave, not too sure what he actually wanted he wandered around talking to folk in between going out to smoke and nip off to Gregg's, someone said he's a lazy postie from another office in the area, I'm guessing he got a taste of paid release from duty and liked it

Save your money the CWU are the worst union in the UK, literally screw their members over every time. Basically they are royal mail puppets.

Royal Mail and CWU currently seem like partners more than anything else. Royal Mail are gaslighting the Union into thinking they want to work together. Once all the USO changes have been implemented the relationship will sour and Members will have been shafted on workloads but expected to back the Union once again.

There is no gaslighting, Dave Wards is actively encouraging Royal mail to make these chances, how the hell the members keep him as the leader is beyond me, when was the last time he was up for election ? When is his term up?

I'm one of the Smart ones,and never Signed up to the CWT gravy train. The bin men get £70 a day for being on strike,The RM guys got nothing..CWT need to have a massive exodus real soon,so they there power. Plus my office union rep is a racist,sexist bully

He was hovering around again the other day but he aint gonna get any joy from those who have already said no but his approach and hard sell is uncomfortable and out of order.I’m betting he has a cosy up with my manager after to discuss those who didn’t want in.
