Seasonal variation of hours

We were told this morning that the variation in seasonal hours is ending immediately. We are one of the trial offices.

Any other offices get told this yet ? Many asking are we not still owed hours then but union and management had no reply really and just said it would work itself out.

So we have did longer winter 2023 and then got the shorter summer 2024 in return, then we did another longer winter 2024 and now we arent getting the short summer in return no? I could be wrong but Iam fairly sure we have all did 2 longer hour winter periods and only 1 short hour period since this was introduced.

I thought the same but could be wrong

I remember at the time thinking they should have waited till the following summer to start it after the new tax year begun rather than starting it halfway through and us owing them back in the winter rather than the other way around

It looks like those of us who worked winter 2023 or started the job just before winter 2024 are losing out on owed time here - unless its going back on our annual leave or paid.

Can Martin Walsh please explain perhaps whats what.

Definitely owed hours.It was originally brought in before Xmas peak

I think it was equalised because we had a shorter period on the longer weeks back end of last year.

So are we just back to normal hours now? Say 35 hour contract for example, 6.30-1.30? What's happening. It's not clear

Seasonal variations have been suspended for the whole of the year so your normal hours of attendance will remain through summer and peak.

So, if we did long hours Dec 2023 & Dec 24 and short hours Summer 2024 then what the hell are OUR union playing at!!
Absolute BARE MINIMUM they should have agreed to is us all being paid the hours owed from Dec 2024 if RM want to 'suspend' this (They should have only agreed to dropping this summer variation on condition of full payment of hours owed PLUS some sort of bonus payment for helping RM out!
I've stuck with the CWU against my better judgement throughout as I think they are a safety net if the company ever try to take the p**s on a disciplinary anytime, but this is just about the last straw

I'm sure the period at the shorter weeks in the summer went on for way longer than the shorter period at peak last year.
I think it's been equalised.
All been squared up to now.
