We have two pin boards in the canteen: one says 'You Said' and the other 'We Did'. One was covered in bits of paper for a year. The other was utterly vacant. We must be in space because no-one can hear you scream.

I don't think 66,000 represents 50%. There's only ~80,000 left on deliveries (see last Christmas press release). Per the annual reports, total operational staff is only ~10K on top of delivery personnel.
Ah maybe a higher turnout than I thought then, I was going by reading on a recent post on here iirc that the CWU had 99000 members so guessed there'd be a fair few more postie grade that hadn't joined.
I think you were correct in the first place if you add in the Mail centre & RDC employees.
Is that 10k just proper RM employees or does that also include agency/casuals?

I would assume the 3 biggest gripes posties have are:

1. Toxic culture/Harassment from management (being pressured to deliver way more than is possible).

2. Two days' mail.

3. Rounds too big.

Royal Mail should already be aware of these 3 issues....why do we need to tell them about these glaring issues that they have done nothing about for years.
1. They don’t care

2. They don’t care

3. They don’t care
True, True, True.

I just like how they put in the message "We're reviewing the results now, and you'll hear more on the results & action planning over the coming weeks".....

So...over the next couple of weeks they are going to come up with an action plan for getting rid of the toxic culture, fixing the understaffing problems, and reducing the excessively large rounds...... riiiiigggghhhhttt....

I bet all these 3 things don't even get mentioned by Royal Mail even though those 3 issues are very common gripes that most posties have.

The survey had to be done almost exclusively on the people app so I'd think all by proper RM employees.

That's the only thing kosher about the survey. In the past when we were called into the office to fill these things in "work-time", many posties didn't bother and I suspect managers filled them in to get the engagement scores up as it was bonus related and it reflected badly on them if no one bother with them.

Whether anything positive comes from this year's survey is anyone's guess as I'm sure managers themselves are aware of most of the issues that posties face and the direction that the company wants to go in that is often at odds with their employees.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Even if they pretend to care have a look at your own dashboards for what responses you gave, if you gave a 0 or 1 then put in a comment the number is rased to a 3 etc. So you can give a poor score and a negative comment and the score goes through as medium or good. If the survey designers don't pass the comments forward then the line managers are just going to get the numbers. The only way to get them to listen to anything is via email pointing out exactly what the problem is.

Got told this years ago by union rep when we filled the paper survey in - the lowest scores you give they ignore them and don’t count them in the results :arrrghhh it’s a con

Last time I did a survey was before covid. The DOM asked for everyone's feedback on how to improve the office, morale and so forth. So did my part and written two pages worth on how I felt about the office and the company.

Did anything improve after completing the survey?

Unfortunately not, and was a waste of time. No wonder the turnout was 50% as the other 50% knew nothing was going to get better but probably worse.

I've worked here for 13 years, and filled in 12 years worth of these surveys.

Every single year, following the survey, the company has got worse, the job has got worse, and the scum managers have got even worse (although you would scarcely believe that was possible).

Can't wait for all the improvements after this one.

Latterly the annual reports are more interested in talking about GLS as the favoured branch of IDS, so detailed numbers for RM are outdated. From my notes:
2015/16 wrote: UKPIL 139k, 120k postmen and women, RMG: 1-in-175 of population, 11% of company shares (p2). 3,500 gone in last year (p4). 127,672 OPGs of which 108,642 male (85%) and 19,030 female (15%) (p39).
UKPIL (Parcels, Internationals, Letters?) is an alias for RMG's UK operations excluding ParcelForce (ie, RM; or formerly RM Letters). It believe it includes in-house agency (Angard). Preceding years conform to the above distribution (95% delivery : 5% collections, distribution, and processing), though I expect in the subsequent nine years that automation and casualisation in processing have reduced it further.
The machine stops.

It might well be closer to 97-98% delivery now, some shifts in MCs are basically all casuals, you can count the number of proper RM staff (excluding managers) on one hand.

When are the results of this survey going to be out?
