I think what he said was incorporating it into basic pay - not simply taking it away.
Yes, which will make it pensionable too.

Why care what other people are earning.we are paid for what we do its simple really if not happy then join one of the others you have just named.
Because as delivery OPGs we have been underpaid for a long time for the work we do. Delivery should be paid the most as it's the hardest job in RM. Processing OPGs should be paid minimum wage as it's a piece of piss, if they don't know where something is supposed to go they just chuck it in a York to any random DO.
Probably within 10 years we'll have been replaced by a combination of automation and agency/casuals. With the way RM seem to be going it can only be a matter of time before they look at the widespread use of agency/casuals in DOs. No one assigned to a duty, everyone given a chunk of mail to deliver. It won't be too long before RM bring in a system to work out the chunks for the day. Only having no data for what's going where for manual letters and flats is preventing them from doing that.

Also probably only a matter of time before RM bring in the widespread use of owner-drivers. Probably only a matter of time also before the lorry work, at least RDC/Superhub <> RDC/Superhub and MC <> RDC/Superhub runs get contracted out, no costs then of maintaining a fleet of vehicles.
What a load of old nonsense this is , honestly the doom and gloom merchants are ruining this site.

Exactly my point, just a doom and gloom merchant that posts worst case scenarios at every opportunity, very strange behaviour.

MCs will be affected more than DOs. You should be worrying about if RM do the same as in Denmark, if that happens then it'll be it for non-drivers

Have you not seen what’s being piloted right now ? What’s happened in Denmark is irrelevant, stop worrying about what might happen 5/10 years down the line because none of us know , especially you.

The new owner will probably make massive changes across the business as soon as he can. They'll be looking for savings wherever they can find them, they won't care if the savings come from DOs or MCs, both will have targets on their backs.

That’s nothing new , savings and cost cutting was the reason we ended up in dispute a few years back , that will never change.
