rm pushing for IHR

Hi I am coming up to 6 months sick and awaiting appointment with hospital but as I got no set date rm are pushing for IHR. I have told them I do not want to take it as be fine to work after.
Now they saying I will get a letter of no cooperation as refused it I have had oh refferal done they say not fit for work but not had any contact from hr about IHR any advice thanks

No offence but how do you know will be fine to work. (You have not said what your hosp apt is) your choice of course.but rm will just not continue paying you if your not working.i,m sure your already down to half pay.

Yes. Continue to be proactive about returning to work. There must be something you can do in such a large organisation. Ask for another OH referral and discuss what you can and could do. Also discuss this with your own practitioners. When you receive the letter ensure you challenge it in writing. Discuss with the employer your desire to continue working and that you wish to challenge the decision they are making.

it depends upon the extent upon your injury affects your ability to perform the duties expected of you.

OH referral might turn around and state that so many adjustment to duties aren't viable or judging by RM's past, agree with the OH adjustments but Not actually do them at all and further put your health at risk.

it IS messy, it's edgy too- IHR is probably being offered due to the length of sickness, Insist you dont want that option in writing to your line manager.

If your injury however affects your everyday life along with ability to perform full duties in the next 9 months plus (in RM's eyes that is classed as forseeable future)

That could be the reason why it's being offered to you too.

as I've left through IHR, me personally it was the best for my situation (Disc Degeneration/Sciatica, later diagnosis of Fibromyalgia)
It might not be for yours so it's entirely your choice.

It's most company's (and the DSS) policy that if you're off sick for six months with little hope of full recovery then IHR is offered.
