The job for the new starters is rubbish, the pay is vastly inferior to the Legacy contract pay, they have to work Sundays, get moved to other offices and treated like the rubbish.
There are plenty of better jobs out there for the pay they are on.

The problem being that whilst there are other jobs out there for similar pay, they're not easy to get as often there's 100's of applicants applying.
It seems much easier to get a job with RM because of the staff turn over. They're desperate.

Most jobs will pay better than what they pay new starts so it’s easier to tempt them away. Legacy on a FT contract is still competitive for now…

You have to sense RM are working on the Amazon model that they'll always be a constant supply of new workers. Your guess is as good as mine as why they think training up new staff for them to then leave after a few months makes any sense.

Training them up, giving them uniform, putting them through the van driving test which I believe is £200+, getting them a sign-in/sign-out card, the knowledge that they build and then they have to start afresh when they leave.

It's 100% better to try to keep your staff happy than have all that expense and knowledge lost within 6 months.

Still cheaper than having them stay on the books for any length of time that they start to gain employment rights.

The reason why RM want rid of long serving staff is because they want a transient workforce. One where people come & go in a matter of weeks/months. Wouldn’t worry about the cost of uniform etc as in time to come you won’t be wearing one…..just be like the Amazon guys running round in trackies & hoodies. As for training, they have such a low opinion of us that they believe by giving someone a PDA any sub human could rock up & do the job from day 1.

It's seen as an Inbetween job now, many of our new starters have used it as a stop gap while they wait for something better.
