I was getting daily grief of my DOM because I refuse to open it. I spoke to my union rep and his answer was "don't engage" so every time my manager asks me I say I'm not willing to engage, it drives him crazy...I come in, work to the best of my ability and looking at an app isn't going to make me work any better. I have left the PDA on my bench before while going to the loo, come back to find a manager putting my PDA down, she looked rather sheepish, she had just picked up my PDA and checked the My Performance App, they are that desperate

Had the same, manager has done it for me twice while i was unaware, so its clearly their bonus at stake

The employer has introduced an app that it is instructing employees to engage with. It's nothing to do with the CWU. The instruction is wholly reasonable. That could result in disciplinary.measures being used. The union should be telling you this.

Ah "it's a reasonable instruction that could result in discipline" is this just because it's the CWU or do you believe it to be reasonable?
If they are ordering you to open the app, as in "Open the app and look at it or else" maybe look at the app, otherwise all they are doing is adding to your workload and its already enough to be getting on with.
Surely, with your very far left of centre views, you cannot condone toeing the company line or maybe you aren't as far left as you say.

Viewing My Doorstep is entirely voluntary and it states as much in the agreement between RM & the CWU. Also in the same paragraph of the agreement, it states that it would be introduced as a trial and our feedback sought. I still haven’t found the feedback form on the app.

My Doorstep/My Performance can also not be used in conduct situations. The information it collects is not accurate enough and can easily be disputed.

So if you do not want to look at the thing, just don’t do it. They do give up asking after a while.

Nothing about the first time delivery numbers it reports ever seem to make sense, nor can any consistent logic be deduced when it contradicts itself from one day to the next. It is a black box achieving the opposite of its intent - I know less about yesterday after reading it.

We were told last week we have to do it daily and a conduct can arise if not, the manager said even though the union put in a disagreement the new agreement was Royal Mail can use the latest tech and this is part of that tech.. prob just our manager talking crap..
