Tony Bouch claims if the trials don’t work then the CWU won’t back the USO reforms, if this is true why are RM currently recruiting
several People Engagement & Transition Deployment Managers whose key role is to provide support and planning of any possible USO reform, seems to be jumping the gun to employ these new management on £50,000 salary if according to the union the USO changes are not a done deal
All jobs are currently advertised on RM jobs

Every communication we've had from local and area reps say that the USO is changing no matter what and this will be the biggest change to delivery staff in decades.

The CWU are desperate to be seen as having a say in what happens next but in reality we will have to like it or lump it

Our office is not part of any trial but we had a manager down last week who's been tasked with planning the new system for us and surrounding offices. RM hope to put the system in our office by September/October

So the answer to the question. YES. The trials havent even got off the ground yet but theyre planning to bring them in to other offices regardless. Weve been told ours is on the cards in may. Pretty amazing considering the regulator hasnt actually confirmed anything yet. It's almost as if the regulator and RM are working hand in hand.

Having worked for several large companies for 40 years I have always found that any pilot scheme or trial which suits the company will be deemed to be a success and implemented across the business.

Management in all RDCs, MCs and DOs are probably already planning stuff for it to go live everywhere. My guess is that it'll go live in the summer when it's the quietest time of the year

It was a done deal before we, the workforce even knew about it. I wonder if 'delivery 2.0' was a sleight of hand suggestion, just to get this in and under the table without too much pushback.

The USO change is happening, the only argument is what form it takes, no matter what happens with the trials it will be implemented asap in some shape or form.
Us trying to guess what it will look like is the latest entertainment for this forum and as all we have is guesswork it's pretty pointless.
Be like me and wait to see what s**t comes our way. And it will be s**t.

Surprised it's only a 9-12 months temporary job, I guess RM must expect to have everything done and dusted in such a time frame.

How can this new way of working combat fatigue?
At the minute it's two people to two frames (A and B)but will change in the future to two people to two frames of double and treble mail alternating between A and B then C and D.
So I'm taking it that 3 people would then look after duties ABCD for the weekly D2D's? The only way you could slightly get into of the D2D issue is that the parcel/1C driver may have some easier days than the walkers which will enable them to go back to the office early to prep them but knowing the managers they will just be sent back out again with failed mail.

Sounds like Royal Mail is using the USO changes as a trojan horse to push delivery 2.0.
Which was meant to be a complete failure.
Still waiting to hear from ppl that had delivery 2.0 in their offices.
What all happened and why they were reveresed in the past.

In our office we could easily change the USO without even touching anyones duty frames.
But it looks like the ppl at the top are hell bent on destroying the job as much as possible.
I'm guessing its to push out the legacy stuff as much as possible.
Not heard anything from the CWU in regards of Delivery 2.0.
