Martin, regarding overtime being cut in offices, how many offices have had a reversal of the policy, roughly?
Staff in our office have followed all the requested procedures for reporting it but it still remains. Huge number of vacancies and sick.
As it seems to have gone a bit quiet since the statement 3 weeks by CWU, is that it then?

So if a pilot is starting on the 24th, there must be details as to how it is being organised? This information should be fed to reps so that they can prepare for what might be suggested at their pilot offices.

I see, so what about the other 36 units that aren't starting on the 24th Feb, and is the plan to review the outcomes still expected to take place at the end of June ?

There's at least one person on here that has said their unit is included and nothing has been mentioned.

This is a forum for discussion, not a static noticeboard. I haven’t criticised Martin for the content of his “announcements” on here; I have merely pointed out that he has ignored many genuine questions from contributors, most of whom are, I infer, signed-up CWU members.

This is a forum for discussion, not a static noticeboard. I haven’t criticised Martin for the content of his “announcements” on here; I have merely pointed out that he has ignored many genuine questions from contributors, most of whom are, I infer, signed-up CWU members.

I agree with that, it would actually be quite good if there was a channel available to ask the CWU questions directly to their highest level, especially on an open forum where these questions and answers can be viewed.

Going by comments on here it's clear that some CWU reps, usually in do's have sometimes given their members incorrect info possibly due to being misinformed/uninformed or in some cases it seems as though they've just made it up.

So yes I think someone should be available to answer questions regardless of whether or not they get criticism that they might not like.

You are assuming he has read your question buried within a whole board of posts.
He may also have a number of people asking for information through the contact facility.
There are only so many hours in the day.

I see people's questions ignored on twitter/X too.

I don't see enough 2-way communication between members and the CWU locally or nationally. So how do they actually know how we feel about things?

This forum is 99.99999% posties voicing opinions to each other which neither Royal Mail or the CWU take much interest in, yet this is the number 1 most interactive communications platform I am aware of, or are there better places to communicate with the CWU that I am unaware of where they will respond and communicate?

There is no real communication by the Union on the shop floor about what is going on; we only have the live videos. I'm listening to it now but how else can we put our points forward??

norris does indeed make a good point. The trouble is any medium that is anonymous invariably descends into acrimony and abuse.

If it was a system where you had to login with your union membership number or something accountable like that then it could work.
Could see a lot of issues being raised though that should be dealt with at a local level!
