yeah ur right topper gas madness to leave all they loops, youll end up getting ur back injured all that extra mail every day, thats why i prefer to get rid of much as possible parcel wise, listen the jobs not that great now as we know, i dont see the point in these sigantures, i did think after covid it was strange royal mail had an opportunity to do away with signatures during it, instead they make it worse having us taking photos and a signature

Im fortunate as Im on a rural duty with plenty of safe place options to leave parcels like sheds, storage boxes, greenhouses and coal bunkers etc.

As for signatures I only sign for things I’ve asked prior from the customers permission .

more and more parcels more than ever, something has to give, with deliveries being longer if it is 3 guys clearing 4 duties just be bedlam ,chaos, people rushing round with parcels, certainly ones behind porch doors how can a customer say they never received it when they have a double door

On the flip side It always amazes me how few people setup a safe place. I think it’s just laziness.

I live in a tiny house, there’s no back garden only a small front yard just big enough to swing a cat.

Yet I have 4 safe places which are hidden from view if you’re walking/driving by with dishonest intentions. I’m at home 99% of the time during delivery hours and I know exactly what to expect so I can amend if it’s a signature item and I know I’m not going to be in. Also in the area of my street where I live, of the 9 houses close by, I’m good friends with 8 of the houses occupants and the remaining house is a holiday let.

I feel for you all having to waste valuable time thinking up safe places because people can’t be bothered to sort one themselves. For me it used to be one of the most frustrating aspects of the job.

I never have and never will leave anything in a bin or recycling box etc for that very reason.

My biggest pet hate as well by a country mile.

It’s always the same people as well ordering loads of stuff and never being in and having no where to leave them and getting packets&parcels from dpd, Amazon and evri etc.

These days I take great delight in taking things back to the office and see it as inconveniencing them because they inconvenienced me.

Every. Single. Day. Not in.
She has a ring door bell which doesn't connect until about 30 seconds.
Then she expects you to try every single neighbour in a block of 6 terraced houses.
I've stopped ringing bell and just knock and leave a card.
Next day, no instruction.
Saturday comes and she has a pile of stuff which she's finally bothered to have gone online for and requested a Saturday because "she's not at work that day".
Drives me fk nuts how stupid customers are.

How people are not embarrassed by the amount of s**t their neighbours take in for them is beyond me. I’ve stopped trying neighbours for some of these 3 parcels a day and never in dickheads.
You can tell it annoys neighbours sometimes and who can blame them, why should they have to answer their door when they might be busy and have their house used as a free storage container for their useless neighbours temu splurge. You would think along with the 15 parcels a week these people get they could order a cheap plastic storage box but noooo.
