Always the case in RM, when any office or shift is going to be affected by some changes, they're always the last to know. As it currently stands, DTS will be run as normal with the normal 5 day limit. Any 2C released will be sequenced and go out to the DOs whether it's due for delivery that day or not.
amended slightly, this is the amended text they're proposing for D+5, so no change really apart from if it's handed over on a Saturday.
Seems a bit mad to me keeping stuff for 4/5 days, when other non-priority is going to be delivered (mostly) every other day.
D+5 Access” means access to the universal service
provider’s postal network at the IMC for the purposes of
a D+5 Access Operator providing retail services that aim
to deliver Letters within five weekdays (or later) after collection from the sender, for
delivery by the universal service provider no later than the fourth weekday after
the Letters were handed over by the D+5 Access Operator at the IMC.
If the Letters were handed over on a Saturday, then handover shall be deemed
to have occurred on the next weekday

Don't think the day of the week comes into it at all, simply 5 days starting on the day it's initially run through a CSSJefferson Starfish wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 13:14Is it possible to program the machines to sequence it on Sunday night instead?SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 12:36Well you'll be extracting it on Saturdays as if it gets released by the DTS on a Friday night, it'll be sequenced along with the 1Cclaretandblue wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 12:28There isn't going to be any deliveries on SaturdaySpacePhoenix wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 12:01Pointless really as you'll just get more 2C released on Friday nights for delivery on Saturdayyellowbelly wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 11:51Just telling you what they've put in the proposed amends for the consultation document bud. Everyone is trying to get to grips with & understand when certain products are going to be released from MCs to DOs. It’s obvious……. the business will find a system that makes it the most difficult for DOs to operate with & run with it.

All I can see is lots of cutting off and arguments galore with managers. Just stand your ground and do your time if that’s what you want. I’ll be using a trolley and taking my time. Royal Mail and the CWU don’t give a flying feck about you. Got the cheek to think a 9 day fortnight will help with fatigue, when you have 3 days of mail some days. You will need the extra day off to recover. Enjoy Mondays and Tuesdays while you can folks.

So whatever fitting you are on, you will be prepping 2 days mail and 2c packets every day?

This doesn’t make any sense. You are correct in saying that you will still be working the same hours, so why would it matter if you have 3 days of mail to deliver in that time? That isn’t your problem.SMS1969 wrote: ↑03 Feb 2025, 20:25All I can see is lots of cutting off and arguments galore with managers. Just stand your ground and do your time if that’s what you want. And 9 day fortnights are great. If they lead to everyone getting them then this scheme at least has some benefit.

Because managers will argue as to what can and can’t be taken out, also it’s more tiring prepping in a duty that has far more mail than now, so it makes it a problem.LouBarlow wrote: ↑04 Feb 2025, 07:48This doesn’t make any sense.
