Delivery Method Change?
Please correct me if I got this wrong but won’t the proposed delivery method mean
3 days of 2c mail on walk A on Monday
3 days of 2c mail on walk B on Tuesday
Every other day being double 2c?

Re: Delivery Method Change?
That’s kind of how it sounds. And no change in walk size. Not sure what they are expecting!

Re: Delivery Method Change?
Yet we're probably delivering half a day's mail each day at moment
yes we'll have busy times and you'll have a finish time but it's hard to argue against mail volume decline at moment..

Re: Delivery Method Change?
When this all kicks in there's going to be days when most walks get 3 or 4 trays of mech each. That is if there's not too much for us to run on the machines, any excess would likely get sent to the DOs as manualcornstar18 wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025, 09:58Yet we're probably delivering half a day's mail each day at momentyes we'll have busy times and you'll have a finish time but it's hard to argue against mail volume decline at moment..

Re: Delivery Method Change?
A lot of walks are not possible currently with one day of mail. They won't suddenly won't become possible with 2 or 3 days mail. They'll become even more impossible when 2 or 3 days mail will need throwing in and prepping before going out.

The upper limit for trays being run is about 24, anything more than that takes too long to run. If the DTS system is going to defer all 2C every other day, the batch sizes are going to quickly get above what we have got time to run. Unless mail has been deferred by the DTS system, we're not allowed to hold it back so any excess will have to go out to DOs as manual. We're not allowed to use iLSMs/IMPs for sequencing anymore, before the DTS came in, if the batches for one office were blown out with a bulk posting, them batches could have been sequenced on an iLSM/IMP.Jefferson Starfish wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025, 11:55Change the record mate.SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑02 Feb 2025, 11:14When this all kicks in there's going to be days when most walks get 3 or 4 trays of mech each. If you want to keep the existing dispatch times, then you're going to have to accept some mech being sent out as manual some days when we're over capacity for what we can run through the CSS and still make the dispatch times. The only alternative is for the 2C to be run like it is now and the 2C not being delivered on a given day is extracted at the DO.

Re: Delivery Method Change?
Posted this on another thread, from a CWU bulletin, doesn't this mean exactly what you guys are saying - the non-priority items?
First-class mail and all parcels will be delivered to every
address 6 days per week, Monday through Saturday.
Non-priority items such as 2nd class and downstream access,
unless they pay more, will be delivered to an address every other
day, Monday through Friday. This means every address will get 5
deliveries of non-priority items over 10 days, but they will get a
delivery every day of 1st class and parcels.
