Two tier workforce mostly caused by failed revisions.

Erm , how tf is the a , b c and d method meant to work when we can barely do one duty and parcels off the other one now and we have dpr drivers
There’s simply no way that works unless they make out duties smaller.

If you are only taking out 1st class mail then your indoor workload will be reduced - meaning more outdoor time.
Plus a move to a 9 day fortnight might mean longer days - meaning more outdoor time.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

But I wouldn’t be taking out only first class mail.clashcityrocker wrote: ↑31 Jan 2025, 19:02If you are only taking out 1st class mail then your indoor workload will be reduced - meaning more outdoor time.

Whoever is meant to do the parcels would do that and the other 2 would have to do what would be 2-3 days mail.
Include either 1 third of a duty d2d and half of a duty that only goes out twice that week.
And as I’ve said, we do not clear one of the 2 duties per day the deliveries are that big.
This would say that we’d have to do another 2 unachievable duties that week.
Under this method with our current duties we’d only manage to do one of the per day meaning people would only get one delivery a week

As long as there is mail to deliver they cannot just get rid of walking posties
Contracted to do just that
Forced out the door by compulsery redundancy while work is available is discrimanation
Ie constructive dismissal
Bring it on

Re: Would certain people get to permanently work on their own in this new model ?
Definitely an uneven work load unless the 3 workers rotate the load each week. Two people taking out double mail on two duties with heavy bags, possible use of trollies due to having 6-7 bundles per loop just isn't doable unless the indoor workload is reduced and the outdoor work is increased by an hour. The 3rd person that has to do all tracked and 1C could potentially have an easier day than the delivery pairing but I don't know how many 1C letters "on average" would there be on two duties combined? I would hope the outdoor work would rotate between the 3.
Whatever the scenario it seems to me that the outdoor work would definitely need to be aimed at being at least an hour longer than it is now.
If two duties take 4.5hrs for example then two duties of double mail would take 5.5hrs to 6hrs I would say

We can only clear most our deliveries now if it’s a dead Tuesday with no d2ds that week. Busy days we end up leaving a full half of the van shares mail and keep rotating until we get a quiet day to catch up. This has been happening for over 4 years. For anyone who might be listening I’ll state now our office will burn to the ground if we are asked to do double mail mon-fri.
It. Can. Not. Be. Done.
I’m sure all the pilot offices will be a huge success though so time to accept this s**t will be coming to us all soon.
