At a guess because there won't be enough time to sort/prep and deliver the 2 duties?

Then that will be the case on every day, not just a Saturday. Or is it people don't want others to have more Saturdays off?

Why would Saturdays be any different to any other day when 1 person is doing the 1C letters and packets for 2 duties? It will literally be happening every other day of the week.
Well there wont be 2 in a van doing that during the week, it'll just be 1 person so why would there be 2 doing it on a Saturday?
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

That's what I'm saying!

If it 'works' on weekdays then Saturday would be no different.

I've got no problem with people getting more Saturdays off. I don't think it's fair but that's not my fight. I also know people who would rather not have them because they wouldn't be able to keep their 9 day fortnight or their Wallington week with this new system

My mistake, I was told van shares were still part of the plan

Van shares are still part of the plan Monday to Friday for the core route posties doing 2 walks of 2/3 days mail, parcels and everything else. On Saturday it'll be single postie doing first class mail, parcels and everything else for 2 walks.

Pay rise be worth nothing because most will lose a day's money a week.

There is not a chance that one postie could deliver first class, all parcels, specials collections etc alone on a saturday on my round. We get over 200 tracked alone between us a day, plus 10+ specials, multiple collections etc. I can’t be alone. I’m guessing others get more than that easily.

Yep my cwu rep and my bosses say this will be a disaster, but what can we do when we have high ranking cwu folk who have never done a walk in 20 years and high ranking management who haven't ever done a walk at all. Looks good all the colours in the picture etc, in real life gonna be messy

No mention of this in the live session was there? Probably settle for a below inflation 2% rise brought in around September with a small back payment to keep the surfs happy.
