Has anyone else on monthly paid only received there standard flat 80 hours per month instead of 5 weeks.. the cut off point was December 16th to January 19th..my maths tell me this is 5 working weeks not 4 .. am I the only one who didn't get the 5th flat week??

Nobody got a “5th flat week”.

You get the same basic/standard money each month regardless of if there are four or five weeks in the month - your weekly wage is multiplied by 52 and divided by 12, with you being paid your basic salary in 12 equal instalments.

Nobody got a “5th flat week”.

You get the same basic/standard money each month regardless of if there are four or five weeks in the month - your weekly wage is multiplied by 52 and divided by 12, with you being paid your basic salary in 12 equal instalments.

So you work the extra week and get your wages for it when? You're entitled to your money you worked for regardless of what they want to say about.

The reality is in every other month there's 4 weeks to each cut off which usually is the 3rd Sunday of the month or 16th or 17th of the month.. obviously with xmas the cut off was early.. I don't know smooth if you can see where I am coming from when I say I done a 5th week .. maybe I shouldn't of worked xmas week because I still would have done my 28 days or 4 weeks..whatever way you want to smooth it there's a 5th week in dec/jan salary..

I’m on a monthly contract like you. I’m on a 40-hour contract. This means my annual hours amount to 2080. Every month I am paid roughly 173.3 hours. Your payslip will be similar. Hope that makes sense.

Overtime does have a cut off though. Are you on about overtime?

No smooth I'm on about the week to week end of it..yes we had 5 weeks overtime..but it is seen as wage theft to not pay a 5th week when a salary is in 1 month which is 12 payments a year..there's the elephant in December which I think a lot of people just can't see

For example, in February, which is a four-week month, we receive the same basic amount.

Mate, there weren’t 53 weeks in 2024 — or 2025. Hopefully someone will be along who can explain it better than me…

I appreciate you trying to but.. February will be cut off at Sunday the 16th .with exactly 4 working weeks Smooth.. I appreciate we all think feb is short but that doesn't affect the salary

There was never 3 weeks in any month at any time ..do you honestly think royal mail would pay us for work we never done.. but when it falls into there way it's us the underpaid employee who gets the dint..no there's not 53 weeks in any year but I do need to get my head around this ..my manager won't answer the phone..Ani emailed hr and they said speak to your manager

I think you may be confusing the overtime cut-off point (usually but not always the third Sunday of each month) with basic pay.

Your basic pay each month is paid bang up to date. For example, on 31 Jan you will be paid for the month of Jan, from 1 Jan right up to and including the 31st itself. This happens for every month.

On 31 Jan, you will also receive payment for any overtime done during the period 16 Dec to 19 Jan. The “cut off” is only for overtime, not basic.

As I say, hopefully someone can explain it better than me.
