Scan as inaccessible Parcels you don't have time to deliver!

I'm not actually really sure what to put for a couple of places. One specific place has a very long drive with a gate at the road end. It's always locked and there is no bell or any way of raising contact with the house, so it's inaccessible for the parcel but not for very little letters due to the very small post box. I can't deliver a parcel because I can't get to the house but conversly if we were allowed to randomly chuck things over fences it would be a safe place ....

I card a4's that won't fit in those small letterboxes.
If you left it sticking out they'd either complaint it got wet or someone could nick it.
Then they complain they've had to go to office and travelled all that way for an A4.
I've had it happen, lino questioned it, just laughed and asked him to consider what the complaint actually is.
If there's one thing I've learned after years in job, customers are thick.
Linos not far behind in the intelligence stakes.
Card and move on.

It baffles me what customers like that expect us to do once they've ordered something they know it's going to be impossible to deliver!

If they don’t mind picking it up from the office sure. If I had a tiny letterbox on a terrace house and I was gonna be at work all day why would I get stuff sent there?

If they don’t mind picking it up from the office sure. If I had a tiny letterbox on a terrace house and I was gonna be at work all day why would I get stuff sent there?

Probably zero choice as they could hardly get it sent to a neighbour?

Our regular never in but order loads of parcels customers, we dump on the recently employed afternoon parcel delivery guys, they don’t come it until 1pm & are quite good at leaving stuff, on doorsteps, under cars, in bins etc

Royal Mail postal workers 'told by higher-ups to fake deliveries so bosses could keep their bonuses'

Happened to me a couple of times last year. Customer services, and the office, denied it even though the tracking history had the office scan it as ready to go out on delivery then 10 minutes later scanned it as attempted delivery and no access. I was in the house on a day off so damn well knew they were lying.

I was on my round today and my first location was ok, then a while into my round I found a house I couldn't get to and went to scan as inaccessible and what did I discover but the complete abscence of the "delivery not attempted" option in the drop down. I was bamboozled because I have seen it and used it, so I had another look. I couldn't find it at all. So the question is did I have a strange PDA that had stuff missing (not likely), was it a software issue (perhaps), was it a new update and we now don't have the option to tell the truth (most likely)?

Anyone else missing the delivery not attempted option???

Some of the customers by me leave notes on their doors saying where to put the parcels or that their door is open and to just pop it inside. I feel a bit off leaving things where they say when there's a big sign telling burglars where to go....so I annoy them and knock on the door or put it somewhere completely different with a big message in the "other" comments.

"Delivery not attempted" is on Indoor > Enquiry office.
For use indoors on the parcels that don't leave the office, or have come back at the end of the day because time has run out or any other situation where delivery has had to be abandoned.
