NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban
NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS
Over the last couple of weeks reps have reported that in some locations management have introduced a blanket overtime ban.
We have made representations including reviewing those units - including levels of sickness, vacancies, adverse weather and current against normal levels of overtime.
This has helped resolve several units, alongside the work that is being done at local, area and divisional level.
If local reps believe that overtime has been banned in their unit then this should be raised immediately in the first instance with the Area Reps and Divisional Reps.
If this still does not resolve the problem then it should be raised Nationally.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

going lose a lot of good postmen because of overtime ban, people rely on overtime, ridiculus considering the cost of living these days, if people start leaving then u think it would cost the employer more in long run constantly recruiting,

Re: NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban
So is the ongoing overtime ban just within Delivery Offices, or is it company wide?

Re: NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban
Oh come on Martin do keep up! The overtime ban has been happening in most delivery offices for a couple of weeks and you have only decided now to do something about it. Is it because some offices are going t*ts up by any chance?
If this still does not resolve the problem then it should be raised Nationally And obviously you are happy to delay things even further. I'm sure RM managers will be quaking in their leather shoes at the thought of the CWU sending a strongly worded letter!
I'm surprised you haven't visited any of these offices while you were up in the North East.
But tbh I couldn't really care less. Leave the mail, deliver the parcels as standard is what the Union agreed. So what difference does it make? Happy days

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban
Yet another pisspoorly worded statement. How hard can it be to say 'there is no overtime ban'. Neither of these clowns can because it's not their company to run. The CWU is as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

There is no overtime ban. There's budgets that the CWU has fully agreed with. The CWU knows full well what's happening. The CWU has done nothing to challenge the USO reduction. The days of clear offices ruling are well and truly over. Martin Walsh keeps telling you there's no money.

Really, you seriously think the CWU has influence with regards setting budgets.tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jan 2025, 07:31There is no overtime ban. There's budgets that the CWU has fully agreed with. Personally I think that’s some 21 yr old just out of uni sitting at a pc in London who says the computer says it’s possible!

Re: NOTICE FOR LOCAL DELIVERY REPS : Blanket overtime ban
Worked my hours today, 7:39 - 14:59, no overtime available. I have a singleton trolley duty and could only fit just over half the duty into my HCT with all the bloody packets I had, and by the time I got back to DO I didn't have time to go out and clear more letters, Virgin Media mass mailing too. So I am buggered for tomorrow and I have been told there is lapsing tomorrow, what a joke, gonna leave it in my managers hands what to do, no doubt I won't be able to fit the second half in (I will have to rotate failure), along with the lapsing, sick of this b.s!

The divisional reps sit in on the daily calls. They know full well what's going on.Jb1969 wrote: ↑22 Jan 2025, 09:37Really, you seriously think the CWU has influence with regards setting budgets.tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jan 2025, 07:31There is no overtime ban. Have the rank and file committee challenged the budgets with some success then?tramssirhc wrote: ↑22 Jan 2025, 07:31There is no overtime ban. There's budgets that the CWU has fully agreed with.
