AR1 attendence
Hello, I cleared an AR1 on the 4th December 2024. I went sick on 17th December for 2 days with a bug and when I got back I was automatically issued another AR1! How is this possible when I thought it would take either 3 absences or more than 12 days. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.

send an email to the manger telling them that you want to appeal against the AR1 , the twat should have told you and given you the option , . but dont give them any reasons why until you get your appeal and speak to your rep . it looks are thought they havent a clue what they are doing .

Re: AR1 attendence
Did those 2 days take you over the 12 days or 3 absences in the time since the original notifaction? If so, it's an new AR1.
And you sure you cleared your AR1 when you think? Remember it's from the date of *notification*, not your last day sick.

Can I still appeal even tho it’s probably gone past the deadline to appeal? But how is it even fair if I was never offered or given the chance to appeal it, just had it slammed down on my frame in a letter and when I asked about it they just brushed me off and said there’s nothing I can do.worktotime wrote: ↑17 Jan 2025, 16:26send an email to the manger telling them that you want to appeal against the AR1 , the twat should have told you and given you the option , . but dont give them any reasons why until you get your appeal and speak to your rep . it looks are thought they havent a clue what they are doing .

Like how can I appeal when I’ve never been given the chance to. I was point blank told I couldnt appeal and didn’t. It was so flipping busy as well with it being Christmas that I was just like whatever ain’t got time for this s**t but now I’m just like no that ain’t flipping fair.Rosie242 wrote: ↑17 Jan 2025, 17:50Can I still appeal even tho it’s probably gone past the deadline to appeal? when
when did he give you the ar1 ?, because by the sounds of it they havent done there procedure , at your return to work they are suppose to say if it may trigger a stage or not and also from that meeting they have to tell you that you have 3 days to lodge an appeal in writing or email and you dont have to tell them the reason why until you get your meeting . dont let the sxxxs get away with it , have you spoke to your rep .

Re: AR1 attendence
The full history isn't given so some details on the policy may be useful.
All absences in the previous 12 months are counted.
Just because the AR1 was cleared, you don't get a completely clean sheet to start all over again, it's always a rolling 12 month period, that is they count everything 12 months backwards starting from the most recent absence.
To trigger AR1 and AR2 it's 3 absences or 12 days in 12 rolling months
I can imagine OP had just 2 absences (or <12 days) between December 4 2023 and December 4 2024, so they were taken off the AR process
But between December 17/18 2023 and December 17/18 2024 there was enough absence to trigger the process again.
I'm spending my life on, off, and immediately back on AR1s at the moment because you only get 2 disability related absences discounted now

Re: AR1 attendence
Attendance procedure 2023.
I cut it short as I'm a human being, who didn't have the bandwidth in the moment to pull up the exact wording and felt the gist would do.
A lot of policies have been quietly rewritten in the last couple of years what always used to be the case is pretty much not any more.
As is often the case in RM the word "may" gives a manager plenty of wiggle room to be a total arse but still act well within the parameters to the procedure

Re: AR1 attendence
If they didn't clear the AR1 it would have meant an AR2!
Which by the way I got despite my absence being an injury whilst at work. !
