The poster Sean presents themselves as not being the sharpest tool in the box judging by his comments on here tbh

I may be cynical at times but the CWU are only in the room for their own ends first and foremost. Regardless of what the Union are telling us, these USO pilots shows that they are fully endorsing and are compliant with RM's idea of USO reform. "If you really want to understand a man, don't just listen to what he says, but watch instead at what he actually does".
The union knows what has been going on for years but don't you think it is ironic that they have never really done anything about it? See above. The fact is that RM pay for your time and management have the right to decide the priority of work that needs to be done as they have to answer for the failures not us. It might look like I'm sticking up for management but all I'm saying is that if you decide not to comply then only you can be held responsible for the consequences of your actions.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I think Ward and Walsh have been quite clear about that.
It isn't financially sustainable in its current format.
If we want to retain and improve our current terms and conditions then it is necessary there is a structural change to the USO.
Most other countries have already addressed this.
The changes proposed are still less drastic than many other countries.
Letter decline have forced their hand on this.
It would be irresponsible to keep digging in their heels over a six day service for all types of mail.

Re: Banned extended overtime in some offices
Not ironic, no, piss poor. I understand that the union supports USO reform but that's kind of my point, USO reform has not happened yet. Royal Mail have been behaving like the USO doesn't even exist since covid, so even if everyone and their dog was right behind USO reform it's still way out of order for Royal Mail to be doing whatever the feck they feel like atm regarding whether or not they bother delivering mail. It's also out of order, the union taking no notice of the blatant wilful delay of mail, which is still no more permissible than its ever been, which, for us, has always been gross misconduct except in extenuating circumstances.postslippete wrote: ↑13 Jan 2025, 00:09Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑12 Jan 2025, 10:22They are not fully onboard with it they are in the same position as they have been for the last few years where it’s better to be in the room rather than refusing to be in the room.postslippete wrote: ↑12 Jan 2025, 08:49Regarding watering down the universal service - the CWU are fully on board with it as they are holding USO pilots in 37 offices
