I do 5 days a week, 4 hours a day and usually do the overtime. Another colleague who has a 30 hour contract dictated that I should be covering the run when they were covering it this week and should be next week but they don't want to. My Manager didn't seem to care that happened so I'll be sticking to my 20 hours if a colleague apparently has a say in what I do.

No disrespect Mac but what delivery duty can be done within 4 hours now, even if you met your partner on the street I'm not sure how that would be possible they are all set at 4.30+ hour spans

I completely agree, it's scandalous. No overtime the rest of the week in our DO. Hardly a letter touched today. They have me covering 7 runs, only 2 that are walks. All 30 hour contracts apart from 1 walk which is 20 hours.

I was told I'd only get a 30 hour contract when I permanently get a run of my own when someone leaves. I'm covering runs of colleague's day offs. I was took off a 30 hour run I was meant to be on for a week for another colleague before because my manager said it was a 30 hour duty so another colleague with a 30 hour contract had to do it. He's now contradicting himself putting me a 30 hour duty next week because a colleague doesn't want to do it and but is on a 30 hour contract.

I'm on 30 hours but made to do the work of a full-timer, so go figure. I was asked to come in an hour early to prep the walk and to deliver it as well, AND do the absorbtions, all in 6 hours, which I can just about manage if I run around like an idiot or quite often, go over by 10-15 mins.

Yes it's ridiculous and the expectations they have. They expect household to be completed as well.

Don't be running around like an idiot. They don't deserve it. Do what you can in your time. Suit yourself like everyone else does. That's what I've realised and started doing.

You need to get confirmation off the manager of what you should be doing or not doing because of the difference in hours.
I would say that if you want me to do the same as the 30 hour person 'I want 30 hours this week, and any overtime above that'

If you usually do overtime then I assume the manager is expecting you to carry on doing it next week?

If other colleagues are going to dictate what run I should be doing because they don't want to and the manager thinks that's ok and says nothing about it then just out of spite, I'm going to do my 20 hours and fail a mountain of stuff. If it was me saying I didn't want to do it, I wouldn't get away with it. I'm the youngest in my DO and it feels to me my manager is trying to boss me around because everyone else is probably older than him but I'm not being walked over.

Your contracted to do 20 hours so there should be no problem

Like I say if any manager gives you grief about it, just tell them that if they need you to do 30 hours then you'll sign a 30 hour contract but until then its your choice
