Banned extended overtime in some offices

Post by Custard Jelly »

I just saw this on a different site and it’s new recent post.
Apparently in some offices they have banned all extended overtime and all posties have been told to leave Mail behind everyday and rotate the Mail everyday.

Have they banned extended overtime in your office ???

Here is the post about Banned extended overtime.
I was having a chat with our lovely postman on Saturday. Not gonna mention the posties name. Has this message is sensitive. Hence the anonymous post. He was telling us higher bosses at Royal Mail now won’t pay any posties overtime if they go over there duty time. He said has the rounds are very big now. The posties have been told to leave mail behind every day and will rotate each day. The posties finish time is around 2pm-3pm depending what day it is. The postie said those who get your mail. Think you’re self lucky lol.

They've stopped the early sorting at ours which we need after a failed revision in October.

It’s a good thing , might stop the idiots staying out for and hours overtime just to complete, they made the duties to big to complete, why would you bother.

Why would anybody work OT unless they knew they were going to get paid for doing it?

Not in deliveries, so obviously this is a stupid question but....

Without OT, does this backlog of mail get "naturally" cleared through more work being taken out on slower days?

I mean, if it costs X amount of money to deliver X amount of work, where are the savings to the business?

That's the theory, but it doesn't really work like that.

Well you have an obligation to report fraudulent accounting. If you simply comment about it on here and do nothing that makes you as bad as them.

It really is amazing how many posties moan and moan about figures being fiddled but just sit back and let it carry on.

Do you seriously think that someone would willingly paint a massive target on their own back? :cuppa
