sick pay procedure
I was recently deducted over £202.5 from wages for going sick for 4 days. This was only my second absence in a year. Does this seem right ?
Also , has anyone got a link to the new sick pay procedure ? My line manager doesn't understand it and was unable to provide me with the current rules !

I thought they had agreed £50 max weekly deduction from wages guess if your monthly paid that would be right

It was agreed by Union members in last year's groundbreaking Business Recovery, Transformation & Growth Agreement in return for 15 pieces of silver

Re: sick pay procedure
Did people abuse the system? Probably.
Were people off for 2 weeks/2 months/6 months at a time, but never NEVER phoned in sick for an odd day?
Would they have brought in the new procedure regardless? Probably.

Re: sick pay procedure
I never had a sickie in 12 years . This year I had norovirus which obviously makes work impossible and now a long needed operation that'll keep me off for a month. I blame the piss takers who continually took sick weeks off regularly. Most now who have left the business. On my first ever week a union man explained how to work the system to have regular holidays. Now most posties are at an age where illnesses become more common and they are paying the price. It was bound to happen in the end.

You may as well come in and make sure you infect the managers and linos, make it your mission that the DOM gets it all too
There's a flu virus doing the rounds now, going be interesting to ensure all the managers grades catch it.

Re: sick pay procedure
It would help if they could be bothered to put soap in the toilets. What amazes me is I'm the only one in the office who kicked up a fuss and brought my own soap in the end . Needless to say I avoided the Christmas buffet
