It's clear right now, but lapsing returns on Monday as people on holiday. Wonder how busy it will be on tracked? Never done a Xmas with RM before so I don't know.

That can’t be right. No holiday in Xmas pressure. Apart from Xmas day boxing day

We’ve been told all must be clear on Christmas Eve, how the f**k that’ll happen is anyone’s guess. People also being asked to work tomorrow, like last week, with the promise of double pay to clear the mail off walks.

Seemed like a record breaking day for Tracked, so Tracked only it was. Again. I've been in one bloc of flats just three times this month. We'd need two extra bodies just to take all Tracked, but then if the Tracked would piss off it would never be bursting out of the frame to start.

Far be it for me to offer any statistical analysis on what this hypothetically common experience means for the office as a whole. If I was to use a word instead it would be... :silenced
The machine stops.

Tracked were really heavy today and I am afraid final push will come Monday with Tuesday going wild for special deliveries. My observation suggests tracked peaked for us Thursday this week with days around Black Friday being equally busy if not marginally busier.

Our worst shared van duty has got 5 days mail in about two thirds of it, 3 days in the other third. There are 9 trays of letters stacked under the frame and the overheads are full of overdue packets. There's nearly a full York of packets stood next to the frame awaiting its turn, as well. So far, there's only one person scheduled to cover it on Monday. We've got a couple of other shared van duties that aren't far off this state. There isn't a single duty with a clear frame, as of close of play on Saturday. The best we have is a couple of duties with half clear, half with today's mail left in.

We haven't ever made the naughty list, even though we're constantly told by management that we're near the bottom, nationally, in virtually every metric that RM have invented to measure DO performance. I would be greatly surprised to find out that we had completely cleared the office even once since at least a year before Covid was invented.

Tracked for us was very heavy and busy today but at least 20% less than yesterday based on my non-scientific counting of Yorks. We cleared all Tracked, including LATs, by 6.00 pm tonight - quite an achievement for us.

Like others have observed, when I look through my steps and screenshots of routes, the Black Friday period was far and away busier than anything since. That’s not to say the last six weeks haven’t been complete chaos — just that that was the worst/busiest time.
