Something strange happened to my parcel at local depot

Post by plsfind »

I have a parcel that is coming from South Korea and it generated parcelforce tracking number when it arrived in UK. Somehow it was handed over to RM to deliver it. I was at home (Tuesday) but I had 1 min delay in opening the door. The courier decided to leave a "we missed you" card instead of leaving the parcel at the door (I live in a flat so this is considered as safe) - and they did leave it before so I dont know why they didnt this time

But the strange thing happens now
1. The scan saying it was back to depot was done on Thursday, not Tuesday or Wednesday
2. So I booked redelivery (with RM on Thursday) but they didnt deliver it.
3. Now the depot is saying that it's being returned to the sender cuz I refused the parcel on the first attempt????
4. All of this "returning to sender" is not reflected on my tracking at all and it says it's in the RM depot (last scan still on Thursday)

Now it's Monday and I really don’t get how I can
"refuse" the parcel if I didn’t even open the door and even if I refused, why did they leave "we missed you" card asking me to schedule redelivery?? I really want to at least track or get some help at the RM depot to find the parcel but they're keep saying it's parcelforce who needs to find it...

None of the tracking statuses you mentioned are from Royal Mail. In fact, based on my research into Parcelforce inquiries online, they appear to be exclusively from Parcelforce. Therefore, Royal Mail is correct in stating that you need to return to Parcelforce for information, as they are a separate company (though part of the same group) and will have more detailed information regarding your shipment.

That is not true as PF was not the one handling the parcel until they receive it from the RM so PF can’t do anything about the parcel. Quite disappointed that RM doesn’t seem to care that much or feel responsible for their work if it has a PF reference on the parcel even if they “took over” the work.
RM has finally handed it over to PF today morning to the depot in Belfast. Really don’t see why it had to go all the way to Belfast but at least now I can speak to customer service at PF.

Undeliverable parcels with no return address go to the National Returns Centre in Belfast. If that is where the parcel ends up then you need to submit a lost parcel form to retrieve it.

I wanted to share some details about the parcel situation to clarify things a bit. Royal Mail handed it over to Parcelforce at 5:05 on 12/12/2024, and it took around 6 hours to process.

Just a little info: the Central London Depot, where this parcel was scanned is at 24-58 Royal College Street, Camden, London, NW1 0QA, and is a Parcelforce depot.

I think if it had been a Royal Mail item, the status would look different—I've attached a screenshot for reference
