Dog bite advice

I was recently bitten by a dog whilst on delivery. Reported to manager and a computerised form completed. Customer mail has been suspended for a month.
What is supposed to happen after this stage? I have had no contact from the Union H&S rep or a copy of the completed form.
Several colleagues have mentioned claiming compensation. I have no idea how to set about making a claim or if the circumstances warrants qualification to claim.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First thing: get a tetanus shot.

Was it a bad bite and have you lost out on something because of it? I've been bitten by a couple of dogs - patched myself up and carried on. If I was off work, lost earns, had out of pocket expenses I may have wanted to claim them back.

If you are a CWU member contact the branch. If not have a look at you're own insurance policies or a no win no fee solicitor. It maybe worth asking the employer if they are pursuing a prosecution.
