Stuck in a loop between Bristol and Stroud

Post by ssilverm »

Tracking no: TQ560038687GB

This parcel was despatched to me last Friday and arrived at the Bristol Mail Centre on Sunday. Since then, it has been sent to the Stroud delivery office, which is the wrong office for my address, and returned to Bristol four times. Even though Stroud keeps returning it to Bristol, Bristol keeps sending it back there.

According to the latest update, it is currently sitting in Bristol, waiting to be sent to my local delivery office. I imagine it will be sent to Stroud again.

Is there anything I can do to break the cycle? Worst case scenario – is there a way I can arrange to collect it from the Bristol Mail Centre? It's an hour's drive each way, but it will be worth it to get the parcel.

Thanks

Steve

This appears to be something you bought. It is the seller’s responsibility to chase Royal Mail for a refund (if applicable) and the seller’s responsibility to send you a replacement.

This kind of bouncing around is usually because there is a mistake in the address, most likely a mistake in the postcode.

The sender has confirmed that he used the correct address.

I've just received another update and, as I feared, it is back in Stroud.

The simplest solution would be for me to collect it from Stroud, but I can find no way of contacting the delivery office.

It might have an incorrect address encoded into the 2D barcode on the packet. The machine that sorts packets at Bristol will be reading the address that's encoded in the 2D barcode.
