Are DMs to Post Office Twitter account safe?

Post by Brian8591 »

In desperation, I sent a DM to the Royal Mail twitter account and they replied asking for my name, address, email, and tracking number. I sent these over thinking DMs are private, but is it normal to ask for this much information?

About as safe as anything can be on the Internet.

They are not available to the public unless 1 party posts them on their timeline.

If the Post Office and Royal Mail did this would be breaking GDPR rules so is extremely unlikely.

Generally they are only visible to the sender and the receiving account.
