Pay Advancement

Post by xPandabear1992x »

Does Royal Mail offer advances on wages, does anyone know?

Hard up at the moment and December's going to be an absolute nightmare.

TIA.

Are you on monthly pay? If so it is possible to get paid on 24th December rather than 31st.

If you need money sooner than that you could speak to your manager and/or hr about an advance (no idea if they do this though).

There's also the Rowland Hill fund which provides financial support to Royal Mail staff in need. Your CWU branch may also have a hardship fund.

Details of how to request earlier December pay are here: https://www.cwu.org/wp-content/uploads/ ... 021224.pdf

You have to request it by asking a question under the My App and HR Help tile.

Deadline for requests is 10th December.

I cant see them offering you an advance to be honest.. you can however "apply" for your monthly pay a week earlier this month. But you have to let HR know by the 12th of December apparently.. then they let you know if it's been approved.. tbh I've never heard of such bull#### in my life..you'd think we were getting paid 1000s a month.. applying for your own wages lol 😆 😂

But it doesn't maximize employees pay for those on the variable pay over peak.. the cut of is the cut of which is the 15th.. now januarys cut of if you don't mind is 19th ..now that's 5 weeks work one has to wait .so when a standard month consists of 4 weeks work where does the 5th one fit in.. I appreciate the overtime yes it will be 5 weeks and not 4 come januarys pay.the reality is it's a long time between drinks for the monthly paid compared to the weekly who have been paid 5 times before us

No they don't.

Try Commsave. It's a credit union for workers in our industry. You can get small loans and overdrafts, without credit checks, and the interest rate is ok - repaymnts come straight from your wages over a long period of time.
