CWU Live at 5pm - Tony Bouch Returns with USO Update and Q&A
Yes it's nearly time for this week's update from the CWU
Hi everyone,
We’re back at 5pm with another episode of CWU Live, and National Officer Tony Bouch is joining us again after his hugely popular appearance a few weeks ago. This time, he’ll be diving into more topics on members minds, like:
What’s happening with the Universal Service Obligation (USO) and the proposed changes
The growing concerns about parcels taking priority over letters
Revisions, the conversation around Saturdays off, and how we’re supporting our local reps
Tune in at 5pm today to get the latest updates and put your questions to Tony.

See you then!

Wonder if they'll mention the proposed 3 day week and job losses for next year?

Oh that’s easy:
We will shortly be seeking discussions around innovative duty patterns that give our members a better balance while reaching out to harmonise and fulfil the daily work life, this is something that will require us all to look inwards while striving to meet the strategic objectives and negate the impact of our fluctuating market, we understand our members needs and concerns and invite them to network with both us and our stakeholders to better deliver trust and value within our core values. At the same time we will explore and develop exciting opportunities animed at expanding the role of the postman.
Check in with Ward and Walsh (the 2 Ws) in our next CWU live. They have biscuits ready, do you?
See you then!
The CWU
PS And don’t forget your Union bingo cards.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

What an absolute load of bollocks. It's hard to know with Tony where the CWU begins and the employer ends.

I thought the original suggestion was that rounds would be around 20% shorter, as how can we be expected to deliver double mail every single day, triple on a Tuesday, on the present rounds? Plus why does Tony believe just delivering 1c and Tracked is an easier job, as he ever done it himself recently?

That's what I thought too, did you catch that bit when he said if your walk takes 4.5 hours with a 35% call rate then it will take 30mins longer with a 75% on the busier days when you deliver everything, I'm not convinced.TopperGas wrote: ↑06 Dec 2024, 12:08I thought the original suggestion was that rounds would be around 20% shorter, as how can we be expected to deliver double mail every single day, triple on a Tuesday, on the present rounds?
