Hello, my special delivery parcel was guaranteed for 1pm yesterday, so it's over a day late. Is it quite common for these to be late, and how long shall I leave it before I assume it is lost?
BTW, I think my local DO is having staffing issues as they only deliver two or three times a week, and never on a Saturday. I've got two other parcels running late, but one is tracked 48 and the other is just second class tracked.

Hi Nick
It was posted at Crediton Post Office [EX17 2EE] at 13:37 3/12/24, and it made it to Hornchurch DO yesterday, 4/12/24, with a tracking message of: "07:01 Due to be delivered today by Hornchurch DO". It never came yesterday and the tracking is still the same today 5/12/24.

No, it is not common for these to be late, Special Delivery is supposed to be Royal Mail’s top priority. The sender needs to complain to RM. If this is something that you bought online, and the seller contracted to deliver this in 1 or 2 working days, then you need to make a complaint against the seller.Brian8591 wrote: ↑05 Dec 2024, 14:31Hello, my special delivery parcel was guaranteed for 1pm yesterday, so it's over a day late. Re: Special delivery guaranteed 1pm, over a day late
I just got two packages that were late but weren't by special delivery, so that's something. Still no special delivery and the tracking is the same as two days ago. I'm starting to wonder if being 'special delivery' just makes them more attractive to pinch. But I have had some bad experiences with my DO so I had to have cover.
