OH referral question

I'm currently off work post surgery recovery.

Had my operation on 18th November, hospital issued 2 weeks fit note, and mentioned to see GP if it needs extending.

I went to GP on Monday this week, who examined me, and extended my fit note for a few more weeks, to allow to me fully recover.

Passed my fit note extension to manager, and my manager has referred to me to OH, which I found a little odd, given I have only been off work (recovering from surgery) for a relatively short space of time.

Is this normal? As I have never been off work (in my working life) for post surgery recovery. Obviously I got nothing to hide, other than I'm recovering from urology surgery.

I will discuss with OH the reason for the call, as I know I am off recovering from surgery, and I do aim to be back to work ASAP.

Hi, don't worry, it's normal for RM. I always found OH to be supportive of me and especially recovering from surgery. They are guided by you. Please take your time to recover fully before thinking about going back to work. Good luck.

OH rang me last week to see how I was doing following surgery. The call lasted 7 minutes( I timed it) . Person who rang was very pleasant but it seemed like a box ticking exercise. Wouldn't worry about it

Normal. They are very good. They may advise a gradual return to work for you
