In theory the following applies

Only 50% of addresses will get a delivery of all mail each day Monday -Friday. However on the days this happens the workload , call rate and span will be longer so you will need more hours in the operation.

On the days an address does not get all the mail delivered they will get 1st Class and parcels delivered. As 1st class now only accounts for circa 700 million items per year then the call rate is modelling significantly less than when you deliver 1st class ,.DSA, 2nd class , D2D etc.

On Saturdays only 1st class and parcels go out by van.

So assumptions can be made hence a method change being deployed.

No but we have modelled another number of units and clearly by doing the 36/39 pilots the assumptions will be tested across a number of sites before we know if it works.

The CWU can stand on the sidelines and watch or it can reduce the impact on jobs , made the walks achievable, improved attendances , Saturdays off, increase full time job , harmonise new entrants terms and conditions, get an above inflation pay rise , achieve a no compulsory redundancies agreement and improve VR terms.

Standing on the sidelines won’t stop the USO change it is happening across the world.

So I could lose my job next year because of this, last in 1st out as I’m a newbie. Thanks for the heads up, I now know my future is not going to be with RM. It sucks doing the exact same job as the old contract guys for minimum wage. Time to find a new job then.

So us non drivers will be the first ones out - RM have known for years they want everyone to drive so they could trained everyone to drive like they did years and years ago

Look there will be no compulsory redundancies so no one will be forced out there will be a job for everyone regardless of whether your a new entrant or a non driver. The union will not agree or support the USO change without this commitment and it cannot work without our support and that of our 100 thousand membership.
