Taking leave during notice period

Post by TOWER1 »

Hi

Per above.

I have asked for change of holiday dates... rejected.

I wanted to put in my notice after my leave, however cannot now.

Can I put in my notice, 4 weeks, and have 2 weeks as leave?

I guess one can but as ever wanted to check on here for reassurance.

Thanks in advance.

Of course you can ask and of course an employer can say no. There is no absolute right to annual leave at the time you require. Employers have the absolute right to determine when leave can be taken.

Thanks for timely reply
I should have mentioned that this leave has been booked for ages.
Wouldn't ask for leave during my notice... understood an employer can decline.

You can still take the holiday that is booked, but beware that you might owe them money if you haven't accrued enough leave for the holiday year, best to check.
