Would be grateful for any tips on washing/caring for the uniform.
I'm assuming that due to the high polyester content, trousers & shirts should be washed on a cool setting? Are they safe for the tumble drier, or should they be hung dry only?
Whilst my body maybe expanding, I don't want any clothing shrinking!
Tumble dryer will quickly ruin the stick on branding.
Other than that, 30⁰ or 40⁰ washes don't appear to have done my kit any harm.
They hold on to your sweat and no amount of sweet smelling fabric conditioner will cover the smell of BO, good large doses of white vinegar in with the wash will go a long way to removing the smell rather than just poorly covering it up
Very few people seem to wash their uniform in my DO.
Most have to ask their wife to wash it for them.
They don't know how to use a washing machine or an iron.
It is shocking really.
My DO is like living in a bad 1950s sitcom.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Know lots who don't actually wash themselves never mind uniform.

Some of them come to work and look an absolute disgrace
But the service is a disgrace, so the appearance totally fits. Brand synergy! Many a year have elapsed since you'd be sent home for turning up with scuffed shoes. Quick, someone who isn't me create a graph pitching Quality of Service against number of ex-army sergeants in management grades.
They no longer have any pride in the job so what’s the point. People are broken. We look a mess. I remember the days we would be sent home if we had trainers on. Had to wear a tie during winter, no shorts, only trousers. Very smart but now I cringe at some of them now.
Got to admit it looks so scruffy.

I went through the McDonald's drive through yesterday and couldn't help but notice their workers wore nice clean shirts and ties. Same I've noticed for bus drivers. Yet some of my colleagues looked like they just washed up on the beach.

I look back fondly on those days turning up at 5 on a Saturday in civvies and being sent home with someone taken off IPS to prep my duty to get changed into uniform because strangely enough we had enough staff to cover full IPS and full delivery back then. Nobody gives a f**k if you turn up in civvies now. Tragic how far RM has fallen/lowered itself
