Up to them isn’t it? I generally don’t, but I’m not concerned about others.comeracing wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024, 22:03Just looked on this week's rota .

Re: Working day off
Most need to now because of the cost of living inflation etc
It's that simple how people work there day off now because the hourly rate sucks and need to work more hours to survive
Royal Mail get cheap labour now that the posties work there day off at the basic rate it's SHOCKING and sad
Royal Mail will have a mega problems soon if there isn't a decent pay rise in April especially now the minimum wage has gone up
Who honestly is going to stay ?????
old contracts and the new contract walking 20 up to 30 thousand steps a day in the cold and the rain and ice + heat the list goes on
It isn't a easy job now especially when you can go anywhere and get a job indoors that's now the same pay rate and not killing yourself
And Probly mon to sat with less s**t it's time to jump ship if the pay deal sucks in April
I will back the CWU all the time but if they can't get a decent pay rise this time most will never back the CWU every again
And after listen to tony bouch on his live the other day ..
They need 4000 vans so they need to balance the new pay deal against getting new entrants terms conditions better because its going to cost money to the business and there overall yearly bill
That's if the he posties get a pay rise
That's the way I seen it on the last CWU live
Tell rmg to bolt
It Wasn't that when they paid out billions since they were privatised to share holders
They should have upgrade there fleet years ago instead off paying out massive dividends but now the posties now have to suffer to get 4000 new vans
More vans less pay
Less chance of getting new entrants terms and conditions better
Less % pay rise
That's how it sounded in the last CWU live
Load of crap

Re: Working day off
You can almost guarantee that they’ll use the inflation figure, less than 2% now, to justify any pay rise. They, of course, didn’t do this last time as it was double figures. And as you say, all the expenses incurred to buy new vans.

Re: Working day off
The increased minimum wage surely creates problems for RM as the pay rate for new starters must now be very close to the MW? Who's really going to want to walk upto 30K a day in all weathers when they can just get a far easier job paying similar money?

Re: Working day off
I watched that episode. He actually said that if he had 50 extra parcels today then that's 50 minutes. And he said it twice....
Either this was a bad example or he would be better off delivering the parcels and let me be the new outdoor secretary!!
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: Working day off
It's affecting every single person working for RM that can't afford to survive without having to work 50/60 hours a week.priority102 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024, 17:56Is it affecting you personally?comeracing wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024, 22:03Just looked on this week's rota .

Re: Working day off
Of course not, but there are too many at RM who like to nosey into other peoples way of working , instead of minding their own business. It’s rife through delivery offices.priority102 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024, 17:56Is it affecting you personally?comeracing wrote: ↑29 Oct 2024, 22:03Just looked on this week's rota .

I work six days, Tuesday to Sunday, as a matter of routine, with Monday being my sole day off.

Yep it’s some sort of illness they suffer from. Very bizarre behaviour as some of them start the minute they walk through the door.SMS1969 wrote: ↑30 Oct 2024, 18:28Of course not, but there are too many at RM who like to nosey into other peoples way of working , instead of minding their own business.
