Very Busy Saturday 26/10/24

It was very busy at our place yesterday too. Apparently some sort of machine was broken in the mail centre on Friday which resulted in a light Friday for mail and parcels, then a monster Saturday for both mail and parcels, esp oversized.

And tomorrow is already looking to be a busy day — we have over 40 Yorks of packets and parcels already waiting in the DO, with the bulk of it still yet to come in. Glad I’m off!

Parcels and letters are done on separate machines. Probably the computers that interpret the OCR data were down, which would likely have taken out all the machines.

This really shouldn't be happening and needs to be stopped.

The Dts button needs to be turned off - so that we get all mail to our delivery frames everyday.

I don't think that any mail should be held back as the machines don't know if there is a parcel or manual letter for an address where mail is held back.

For me the Saturday before was really busy which was annoying because they knew i wanted to go to the football, but yesterday football was away so it didn't matter.

They shouldn’t be doing this because OFCOM does not know they are doing it - OFCOM is considering whether RM should be allowed to do it as part of delivering mail every other day, they haven’t greenlit RM holding mail back now.

As part of the deliberate delaying of the mail, Monday and Tuesday will become the heaviest days for mail.

I was on my own Saturday, as my partner was off on a long weekend. 2 trays crammed full, fine no problem.. then came in Monday to another 2 trays! (Oh and to be on my own again).

Majority of households seemed to have 6 or so letters? Something isn’t quite right!

You're all going to be very busy in DOs today. The DTS system crapped itself yesterday and sent bad data to the CSS machines, which thought that just about everything was supposed to go on the DTS yorks. The DTS got turned off locally so there's nothing on the DTS yorks, everything went out
