Office building security telling me I cant bring a trolley into the building
So, Security for an office building is telling me that I can't bring a trolley into the building as it's the 'building's policy' and have to leave it outside. The building in question has a few companies that get a fair bit of mail incl. specials, enough to fill 2 pouches minimum with parcels.
So I use one of those amazon buckets to carry mail for that loop which has other office buildings (that also get alot of mail, parcels and reg) on it as you can't deliver by van to that area.
I told them if I do that, then they have to be outside with the rest of my post which I don't think they liked that idea. If they tell me again to leave it outside do I just tell them to f**k off and I'll mark all the post for the building as refused by them and it's their problem? Because by this logic, they would refuse anybody in that's on a wheelchair.
Obv I'm gonna bring it up to the managers in the morning because they usually back us up on stuff like this funnily enough

Management problem. Scan and endorse all items as inaccessible and return them to the office.

Had similar issue few months back.
Inaccessible. Daily. And sent back.
Soon changed their policy.

If I was the manager I would deliver a letter stating that having completed a risk assessment for delivery to the building, the security risk is deemed too high. Mail will be available for collection from the DO for 18 calendar days in accordance with our usual mail security procedures, i.e. mail only in the name of that on the ID presented will be handed over.

What a owner, tenant, renter of a property or location wish to stipulate about entry is a matter for them. Bring it to your employers attention and do as instructed.

Indeed a colleague of mine did just that, he wanted the specials signed and the shop staff said "go upstairs" to which he said that he can't leave his trolley outside "Not my problem"
So he took the specials and mail back, it wasn't long before that policy was revised and the snotty staff got a telling off.

Update from today, the same security guard saw me through the window so I folded up the trolley into the bucket and dragged the bucket through the building which was loud as f**k, could see he was seething so bad and hovering over me as I was scanning all the letters slowly at the desk, guess he wishes he never told me that now

Pretty certain that's not in accordance with RM policy, as others have suggested I'd have just told your manager and left the issue with him as it's above your pay grade to have to come up with a solution to the issue.CrackJack wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024, 18:35Update from today, the same security guard saw me through the window so I folded up the trolley into the bucket and dragged the bucket through the building which was loud as f**k, could see he was seething so bad and hovering over me as I was scanning all the letters slowly at the desk, guess he wishes he never told me that now![]()

What is an ‘Amazon bucket’? Is it just a large crate?

Is it a blue, yellow, green or black Amazon tote?

I did speak with my manager earlier in the day about it, he said if they refuse to let me in with it then to just mark all the mail as refused and return to senderTopperGas wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024, 19:43Pretty certain that's not in accordance with RM policy, as others have suggested I'd have just told your manager and left the issue with him as it's above your pay grade to have to come up with a solution to the issue.CrackJack wrote: ↑11 Oct 2024, 18:35Update from today, the same security guard saw me through the window so I folded up the trolley into the bucket and dragged the bucket through the building which was loud as f**k, could see he was seething so bad and hovering over me as I was scanning all the letters slowly at the desk, guess he wishes he never told me that now![]()
