My time's up.

Post by DiamondSmiles »

After 38 years, my final day was yesterday. Thanks to everyone on here and to all my fellow posties who I have worked with over the years, the salt of the Earth and kept me entertained every day! Wish you all well in this hugely uncertain time at Royal Mail. It was nice many came to shake my hand and wished me well. Unfortunately none of the management could be bothered. Kind of expected, but would never of happened back in the good old days. Still, will try to remember the good people and not the losers of this once great company. Wish you all well. DS.

38 years, a massive well done for giving so much time to one company. All the best for your retirement.

17 years for me. I can't face another Christmas, so I've put my notice in. Early Retirement.
(I never did get round to changing my handle on here! Still 'New Postie'!)

I know what you mean there, when I started Christmas was obviously busy with mail and cards but now it's just ridiculous and totally out facing with parcels, it's beyond acceptable to be expected to cope with the increase yet some duties get loads of help and others don't, it's as though management are completely inept.

People leaving before Xmas - probably the best time to leave! Before it all goes t*ts up with agency, temps and hire vans.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
