They've got to buy their own biscuits for meetings now and can't claim them on expenses.

Well what is it then? How have I missed it?

All will be revealed in the coming weeks apparently.

Just to recap, Dave Ward said it was about the people who have led this business who turned their backs on the workforce and created circumstances where they could sack reps and members and the Union believe that they have uncovered something regarding the business leaders who have covered their own actions up on it.

Personally, I hated watching episodes of Prison Break and 24 where every episode ended in a cliffhanger. Why can't they just tell us what it is now?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Precisely. If there is something important We need to know about say it. We’ve been buggered about too much over the last 18 months for any F - - more drama.

He's been telling us this since the last industrial action.
Here's usually how it goes...

Anytime the union think the members are looking for some answers from them, Dave Ward appears online somewhere saying, we're talking to, or meeting with Royal Mail to discuss XYZ and we'll be able to share the outcome of that meeting with you in the next week or two.

Two weeks come and go and we hear nothing more about it!

Repeat.
Repeat.
Repeat....

Am I reading this right? It's some kind of potentially libellous claim. That might explain the interminable vagueries if the union's lawyers are working on clearing it before it can be said out loud. Suddenly I'm reminded of the month of strikes that got scuppered in the courts.
The machine stops.

And even if there is a 'scandal', what is actually going to happen as a result of it being uncovered? A reasonable amount of todays workforce are new and won't care what happened during the strike period(s). A lot of them are not even in CWU.

Are CWU going to pursue some sort of legal case through the courts? Thompson and co. were hauled over the coals in parliament but apart from gaining a few headlines nothing happened. How much is this uncovering of a scandal going to cost if CWU decide to pursue it? What discernible difference will it make to the shop floor? There are loads of everyday issues probably in every office which affect many members which won't gain as much focus from the union.

If this mystery scandal was going to be brought to everybody's attention I'd have thought this week's Labour conference was the perfect place to do it, but nothing seems to have been divulged, or if it was, the press don't seem that interested in reporting on it?

The only scandal should be that RM walk design revisions designed them to fail the USO as far back as 2021...... and yet the union folded like a deck of cards without any remorse towards employees health, safety, work/life balance and has led to multiple instances of long term sickness levels never seen for over 18 years..... (RM admitted 2023 was the worst sickness levels since 2004)

and yet NO ONE has chosen not to do a Single thing about it....... or even question the True Why without getting "mails going down" record thrown back at you.....

change the record, RM have said that for over 9 years now and chosen to put up prices of the stamp without improvements of QoS - only making things worse....

So does it really matter if she is a postie or manager.

We do not want opinions from others viewpoints shut down because people are anti manager or anti postie. Managers opnions are just as valid as Posties as long as trhey are expressed in a polite and non confrontational manner. I mean we even have it in our rules viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11169

Just because someone has a different viewpoint or political position to you, it does not mean that they are a 'Manager' or a 'Union fanatic', any posts making such assumptions or generalisations will be pulled or amended and the poster warned. This also applies to posts that are not aimed at individuals but at groups.

So please stop with this your a manager crap, it makes no differemce.
Yes it does matter

If someone is masquerading as a postie when they are a manager or vice versa then of course it matters - especially when their opinions are often inflammatory in nature designed to get people's backs up. Managers should be allowed to post freely but people who clearly are managers but pretending to be 'new starts' and such like and trolling? Nah, I dont want to be part of a forum where a moderator thinks its ok for such practises to go on so im done with this place.
But the vitroil on here from people who try to shut down managers means to avoid confrontation they have to pretend to be posties or new starters.

I am not saying don't question what they post, indeed challenege it, but do not use the "oh you are just a manager" to dismiss and shut them down. Use logic and sensible argumnets to prove your point.

Mate, its a bit weird coming on here pretending not to be a manager when its clear to most of the forum you are never the female postie you claim you are.
Is not challenging their arguments its an attempt to shut them down because you disagree with them
I think you may be a manager but you are wrong, and here is why
You are calling them out on being a manager but you are explaining why.

There is a difference and the one thing I don't want on here is a Trump like Cult where only certain people can post and everyone else is seen as our enemy.

Also to warn Managers - if you come on here trolling or pretending to be a postie just to cause division, and its blatant then you will be kicked from RoyalMailChat.
TBT, I have to date shared on this forum: (i) a redacted copy of my offer letter; (ii) a screenshot from MyPerformance of activity for 11 September; (iii) excerpts from my payslip; and (iv) a photo of me stood at the rear of my van. I don’t know what else I can do to prove my bona fides. As I hope you will appreciate, it is difficult/impossible for me to prove or disprove a negative.
Who cares. Your doing the job the way it rea!oh should be done but you need to remember that about 90% of the staff are on far better contracts and about 60% were there when it was cushy and nothing was left undelivered in any office. And people find it hard, especially the way you come across in some of your comments. Your views on the job might have changed in a year or so when your just another member of staff getting shafted every day. :cuppa

Until we get our own ITV drama (Mr Smith vs Royal Mail) nothing will change.
