Hello. Just a quick one. I had my pda in my pocket (yes probably not the best place to have it) and long story short it’s gone off and scanned me out 3 hours early it’s a mistake of course and I was just wondering can I actually scan out at my normal time when I get back to the office and will it overwrite the early scan out?

You can definitely scan out again but no idea if it overwrites the one done in error, I don't think there's anything to worry about just scan out again when you've finished.

If you look at the "my performance" tab on the PDA it says it records your first scan in and your last scan out, so if you then later scanned out at your proper time you should be fine.

Not sure on what goes on in the techy background stuff.

I imagine in the worst case scenario your manager notices an honest mistake tries to make something more of it than it is. With the help of a rep you professionally laugh in their face.

I imagine more realistically nothing will come of it at all

We normally get a text within 5 minutes of signing out on our PDA

If it’s gone off your not scanned out - just like if you have to reboot when your on delivery your still scanned in

If it’s gone off your not scanned out - just like if you have to reboot when your on delivery your still scanned in

You can "manually" press it in your pocket by accident, however, as long as your PDA shows that you were still scanning items after you accidentally scanned out thenthe manager should accept it's an honest mistake if they even bother to check.

Didn’t lock the pda. Must of just knock it when walking around etc etc. typical luck really

When RM were doing the spec for the current PDAs, they should have had a sliding switch which when on would have the PDA ignore any input from the screen

The screens of the PDAs seem to time-out way quicker than what they used to

Bouncing about in a holster or pocket as they do out delivery they take on a life of their own. Even a single drip of rain can cause it to lose the plot. Yes, even when you have activated "wet weather mode"

It will cancel your route entirely, Mark off collections, call 999. Anything you really really don't want it to do, it can and will do seemingly of it's own accord.

A really functional lock screen would be a massive help

I can't understand why you can't just lock the screen on the one you want it to stay on, if your using "Outdoor" you really want it just locked on that screen as the scanner button will still work but however careful you are it either reverts back to the screen showing all the icons or opens up a customers parcel collect screen when you pull it out of the holster etc to use it,
