Re: has anyone got any blue shirts?
Look at matalan or even Ebay for work shirts, they're cheap enough and can be had in very similar blue

Why do people still wear the old blue shirts? Are they officially allowed to? You don’t see Tesco employees wearing obsolete uniform.

Do you honestly think managers care what people wear just get the mail/parcels delivered.nightcrawler wrote: ↑04 Sep 2024, 20:45Does Royal Mail/your manager allow this? Just wondering because the Matalan shirts obviously won’t have the RM brand sign on them.

Re: has anyone got any blue shirts?
The blue shirts are more comfortable to wear in summer plus they look a lot smarter than the cheap red Royal Mail t-shirts that look like factory rejects with the stitching done on the outside. Like the mrs said to me the other week, posties used to be smartly dressed but now they all walk around looking like tramps.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Re: has anyone got any blue shirts?
I see a lot of colleagues walking around in uniform sans the RM logo. That's because the iron-on badge doesn't last very long. A sewn-on badge is just stealing food out of the CEO's mouth, people!nightcrawler wrote: ↑04 Sep 2024, 20:45Does Royal Mail/your manager allow this? There used to be a lot of domestic uniform suppliers, some of which also supplied the military (Ben Sherman, Remploy Knitwear, etc). I wonder if the more militarised 85 uniform piggybacked on that late Cold War demand. The wooly jumpers are just branded NATO pullovers - British Telecom wore practically identical ones at the same time.postslippete wrote: ↑04 Sep 2024, 21:23Like the mrs said to me the other week, posties used to be smartly dressed but now they all walk around looking like tramps.

Re: has anyone got any blue shirts?
Appreciate and respect that that is your — and others’ — personal preference, but my question was more about whether you are actually allowed/permitted by RM to wear obsolete blue uniform.JKSmudge wrote: ↑05 Sep 2024, 16:48Shirts are more comfortable... and no way am I wearing redSmoothbackground wrote: ↑04 Sep 2024, 20:54Why do people still wear the old blue shirts? Re: has anyone got any blue shirts?
Still wear the blue shirts got 4 unopened that I will probably open in 2025, hate the red shirts, blue ones are perfect for phone and pen in right hand side top pocket headphones and security badge in left hand side, can't imagine all the fiddling around people have to do wearing polo shirts.
