Amazon Packages falling apart.

Had one of these myself a few days ago. Box fell apart loading into van, contained 32 bottles of Lucozade.

Are sack trolleys anywhere to be seen at your place?

We’ve got one sack trolley to share with over 100 posties. One duty tends to have it to themselves.

That sounds about the norm. Pretty terrible because accessing some front doors is sometimes an activity course.

That’s terrible, and if you put your back out, RM would say it was your fault.

Trouble is with the correx sleeves you have to lift the box no matter how heavy out of a york on your own as it's physically impossible for anyone to help you. Don't they allow you to card the item and make the person pick it up from the DO anymore?

I’ve refused to take out really heavy oversized before, I’m not hurting myself lifting and carrying them.

No, they make you take it out so that it is scanned at the delivery point.

I oft wonder if Amazon skimps on packaging for the awkward and heavy items they can't be arsed delivering themselves via their bypass network because they know we'll suffer the blame.

Tape wouldn't hold them together for more than 5 seconds. They would need strapex to hold them together.

Wouldn't surprise me if they've got their AI analyzing that if their driver takes 'this big box' to 'such and such address'
which might be difficult to get to or is out in the sticks or the recipient is regularly not in and is just a general faff which is going to delay
their driver delivering five smaller parcels then give it to RM to deal with.

That is indeed how it works. The Amazon algorithms are learning and adapting constantly, in real time.

They are masters of it. Also the other firms that switch to RM late in the evening after Evri’s next day cut off point knowing that RM will put them out on LAT’S, then switch back to loading Evri trailers 1 minute after the RM one has gone.

People order whole lot of groceries , these package's cam be extremely heavy with incredibly flimsy cardboard minimum tape. If you've ever shopped in Aldi you'll understand why they are cheap. The packaging on many items can just disintegrate the moment you pick them up. It's the same with Amazon. You need to make sure the office has a good supply of heavy duty damage bags. Throw the parcel in the bag , tie it up and it's no longer your problem.
