Hard work is rewarded at our place — by way of example, I was allowed to leave at 12.00 noon today (instead of 4.00 pm) as a thank you from the Lead COM for what he called my hard work this week and for going above and beyond.

You do realise that about 90% of everyone other than people working in the odd special office is paid £12.29ph on a 30hr contract yes?

Is it correct that you don't get paid anything extra for Sunday working? My manager said its part of my working week if needed and that I would get a day off in the week as I can't work 7 days in a row, I've yet to do one but I'm sure my time will come..

Those of us on new-style contracts don’t get paid anything extra for Sunday working. While your time to work a Sunday may well eventually come, it may take longer to materialise — we now have a waiting list of over 20 people wanting to work Sundays at our place as they are lured by the prospect of having parcel-heavy Wednesday and Thursday off in lieu.

No you don’t get paid extra for Sunday working on the new contracts

To be fair at our place they try to give you Saturday off if you’re working Sunday but that’s not always possible

The worst thing that new starters complain about (and rightly so) is bank holiday weekends because although they get the Monday off they still have to work the Sunday

That’s caused at least one new starter that I know of to leave the job

If your getting £14.87 per hour your in the London area. Otherwise it's £12.54 for the new contracts, with no paid breaks, no delivery supplement, no free ( retention and recruitment supplement) which in the South of England d is worth on average £35 per week per postie. And bye the sound of it you better go and wash your mouth out because your managers xxxx is all over your tounge. You've been in the job 5 minutes and think you know it all. But your managers will screw you over eventually, or perhaps they have already done that to you also.
