Same, mine are getting well knackered, the new trousers are ok though quite like them better than the previous ones imo, I'm going to have to try the shirts though as there's no alternative, maybe the different ones will be ok, I really don't like the polo shirts as they don't have pockets.

Go to Primark (or wherever you shop). Buy a pale blue shirt - long sleeve or short. Get a RM hi-viz vest. Wear the blue shirt under the hi-viz vest. Who's to know? Or who's going to call you into the the office and ask you to explain yourself? Honestly.

Clear your Tracked and SD. Empty the boxes. Pick up the collections. SISO. Van checks. Don't stress the Trimble in the van. I don't think many managers are fussed about uniform. We're not on the catwalk here. I wait to be corrected.

I was talking to an older colleague about his blue shirts (the darker pre-Dimensions ones). He said he likes having the pockets and I asked if he had tried the new red shirts then. I hadn't been able to quite put my finger on why I don't like them and he hit the nail on the head - they're bowling shirts. Fits I guess, since the uniform is modelled on sporting wear now. Where was the 'activewear' when we used to sprint round on a Tuesday?

I've considered buying my own blue shirts as my stash ages. We should just go back to how it was before 1985: you provide your own shirt (preferrably white or light blue), tie, and shoes while the company issues you a nice blazer, trousers, cap/beret, and ID badge. But no... we have to look like joggers that got lost in the woods for three weeks.

I'll enjoy that later. Always bore the ears off the new starts telling them how things used to be, because otherwise the company will succeed in suppressing the knowledge that things weren't always in this state. He who controls the past.

I'll have to ask some of the new guys if the job now advertises the perks of looking like a knob.

I have some shirts from retired colleagues but they're not my size, so I need to offload them at some point: five S/S mediums and five XL mixed S/S and L/S.

There's demand for the proper mid 2000s shirts as someone just promptly sold a handful on eBay. A bunch of Ben Sherman ones sold recently too. Now I can't see those new ones without thinking...
